In an unimaginable turn of events, LibreDWG, the free/libre library for opening proprietary CAD files in the DWG file format, is becoming a stellar example of a FOSS project.
New version of FreeCAD features a great variety of improvements in many workbenches, as well as fancy new things like Occulus Rift support.
The FreeCAD team continues getting rid of the myth that there can be no usable open source CAD software. The newly released v0.13 includes massive improvements in almost every workbench.
There's a can of worms we opened this year: the unfortunate situation with support for DWG files in free CAD software via LibreDWG. We feel, by now it ought to be closed. We have the final answer from FSF.
