3Delight exporter for Blender updated to feature new global illumination method
Matt Ebb has just released a new version of Blender exporter for a Renderman compatible renderer called 3Delight. The big new feature is a new point cloud global illumination method.
As Matt points out, on exporting it automatically generates a point cloud, and then uses it in the render for indirect lighting and environment lighting. The demo says it all really:
Matt has plans to make the process more sophisticated and configurable, with more bounces for indirect lighting, but for now it’s just all fully automatic so that you had something to play with.
